Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA has concluded a deal in principle with Boeing Co to acquire 50 737 Max planes, which will be delivered when the carrier’s current leases expire.

According to a stock exchange filing, the airline will get the jets between 2025 and 2028.

Norwegian plans to complete the deal, which includes options for an additional 30 planes, by the end of June.
Since emerging from insolvency, Norwegian has concentrated on rebuilding its operations as a regional carrier, shifting away from low-cost long-distance flights.

The airline stated that it intends to make pre-delivery payments for the new Max planes using “positive cash flow from operating activities.”
